| Every 10 years, a citizen's commission is formed to draw a map of Los Angeles that divides the city into 15 districts of equal population. The Los Angeles City Redistricting Commission is considering redrawing council district lines in a way divides 80% of Westchester, separates the majority of our community from LAX, our community of interest neighbors Playa del Rey and Playa Vista, and divides Westchester between Council Districts 11 and 8. The Westchester Democratic Club adamantly opposes the commission’s proposed Council District maps for Westchester and Council District 11. Congresswoman Waters stands firmly with the Westchester community and Councilman Bill Rosendahl in keeping Westchester and Council District 11 intact. |
